In South Africa, the promotion of tourism has been identified as a key strategy that can lead to\r\neconomic growth, community development and poverty alleviation. This appears to reflect that in the\r\nrecent years, tourism has emerged as a significant development option in the post-apartheid South\r\nAfrica. Tourism is perceived as an adopted strategy to creating more equitable economic growth in\r\nSouth Africa. According to the White paper on tourism (1996) the tourism sector is expected to be the\r\nleading economic sector in the country by 2014. The tourism industry is an integrated and multisectoral,\r\naimed at poverty alleviation through pro-poor economic growth. The study looked at the\r\nsocio-economic impacts of tourism on emerging tourism entrepreneurs in the George municipality. The\r\nstudy will contribute in increasing awareness of the socio-economic impacts of the tourism industry on\r\nemerging tourism entrepreneurs, who are mostly from the previously disadvantaged groups in South\r\nAfrica. The study found that the tourism industry is contributing positively from a socio-economic\r\nperspective to the emerging tourism entrepreneurs, even though the majority of them are earning\r\nincomes very close and lower than what is considered a living wage in South Africa from their\r\nenterprises. It was found that tourism is helping to respond to the alleviation of poverty and the income\r\nearned is helping to respond to the basic needs of the entrepreneurs. Many of these entrepreneurs who\r\nare from poor backgrounds are also able to find employment in these enterprises. These enterprises\r\nare also seen to be providing a new type of tourist experience as many of them are focusing on cultural\r\ntourism products....
Production of educational services has presented several concepts and a growing importance within\r\nthe area of operations; although, few studies have tried to demonstrate the use of such concepts and\r\nproduction techniques for the educational area. Studies in this area are important due to its\r\ncharacteristics of an almost pure service. This article has the objective of analyzing the modifications in\r\nthe production area of services made by a school. For so much, it has made a theoretical increase\r\nconcerning the theme, and a case has been analyzed. The authors made some criticisms and finally\r\nconclude that production theory can aid the development of the operations in the educational area....
The present study empirically investigated the impact of trait emotional intelligence (EI) on managerial\r\neffectiveness and the moderating effects of the Big-Five personality dimensions on the relationship\r\nbetween trait EI and managerial effectiveness. Using purposive sampling, data were collected through a\r\nstructured questionnaire from 100 practicing physicians and superintendent nurses working at three\r\nhospitals in the capital city. Factor analysis, correlation, and regression were used to analyze the data.\r\nStatistical tests indicated that all variables were significant at 5% level of significance. Results revealed\r\nthat trait EI indeed predicts managerial effectiveness, while the sociality dimension of trait EI dominated\r\nin predicting managerial effectiveness. The moderating effects of the Big-Five personality dimensions\r\nwere also confirmed. Amongst the Big-Five, agreeableness showed the strongest moderating effect.\r\nThe study provides human resource practitioners with useful insights relating to this phenomenon\r\nenabling them to strategize to enhance managerial effectiveness. It also contributes to the existing\r\nbody of research by providing evidence for the predictive validity of trait emotional intelligence for\r\nmanagerial effectiveness, and for the moderating effect of the Big-Five personality dimensions on this\r\nrelationship. Importantly, this study has extended the trait emotional intelligence model and personality\r\ninteraction into Pakistan with reference to managerial effectiveness....

These elements (enablers and results) were identified through the critique of five\r\nlandmark performance measurement models. Data gathered via a questionnaire survey were analyzed\r\nusing SEM. The statistical results revealed significant positive relationships between the enablers and\r\nresults of performance....
Cloud services have long been a part of our lives and their range of application is continually\r\nexpanding. As society has progressed, the demand for computing resources has also increased.\r\nCompanies face a growing need to update information software and hardware. To facilitate effective\r\nmanagement, conserve space, and limit the cost of updating software and hardware, cloud services,\r\nwhich effectively enhance computing functions, have gradually become the solution for businesses.\r\nFor the restaurant chain used as a case study in this research, each branch had previously\r\nindependently handled the reservations made at their venues, without any exchange of customer\r\ninformation among branches. Therefore, if the branch did not have an available table for a customer\r\nattempting to make a reservation, the customers business was lost. This study improved the\r\nreservation system for this restaurant chain by constructing a cloud reservation system that integrates\r\nthe reservation information of each branch. This, in essence, makes each restaurant branch a resource\r\nfor other branches, because should a customer attempting to make a reservation find one branch has\r\nno available tables, he/she can speedily receive information on available tables at other branches. This\r\nnot only saves inquiry time for the customer but also enhances the quality of service provided by the\r\nrestaurant and increases its business, facilitating its development into a service-oriented e-restaurant...
For a very long period of time, universities were institutions that offered education to those who could meet their prescribed entry criteria and were operating in a supply-side market, which meant that their marketing efforts were limited to a few actions, and the communication efforts were unidirectional. \r\n\r\nThe diverse changes in the global environment had a direct impact over higher education institutions and forced them to rethink their general strategy and to tailor their marketing efforts in order to better suit the student-customer information and communication needs. The changed approach was mandatory for universities survival in a demand-side market. \r\n\r\nThis change implied that universities undertook organizational changes meant to transform them in more market oriented institutions and that communication with target groups became a priority. \r\n\r\nOnline environment offers universities various marketing instruments designed to fulfill their needs to provide accurate and up-to-date information and to have a two-way communication with their target groups, whether they are current or prospective students. Social media proves to be an unlimited resource of instruments for higher education institutions to get closer to their public. \r\n \r\nThis article aims to analyze the use of online marketing and social media strategies applied by universities in Romania, both public and private. The survey was conducted on 56 public universities and 55 private universities and aimed to examine the universities websites and social media involvement....
